Wetland Design and Building Workshop - Hands On!
Sat. 7/5/08 & 7/12/08 from 11 to 3. A two day workshop – please wear work clothes, bring gloves, hats and sunscreen.
Start with a presentation on how to determine the size of wetland and the design process. Then we will again have the opportunity to immediately put those plans into action!
This workshop will be taught by Ken Litchfield and Brett Stephens.
Ken Litchfield teaches the Beneficial Beasts in the Garden and Mushroom Cultivation classes in the Landscape Horticulture Department at Merritt Community College in Oakland and lives and works on a ranch where he works and plays with lots of diverse plants, animals, and habitats.
Brett Stephens is a partner at SF Landscapes. Brett has many years of landscaping and pond building experience, which includes sculpted water features.
All workshops will be held in San Francisco at an urban homestead where, chickens live out of a strawbale coop, rain is stored in recycled drums, and greywater irrigates fruit trees.
Beverages and lunches are included; feel free to bring something to share.
Wear work clothes, bring gloves, and a camera if you want to take pictures.
Cost: $150 - $200 sliding scale for the entire series. $50 - $75 Sliding scale per segment.
Preference will be given to those electing to participate through the whole series. Limited scholarship available - contact for more details. There will also be books for sale.
